Declaration of Intent on the sustainable integration of data centres

CurrENT joined 13 European organisations in signing the Declaration of Intent on the sustainable integration of data centres.

The initiative is one of the flagship actions of the European Commission’s Strategic Roadmap for Digitalisation and AI in the Energy Sector. Coordinated by ENTSO-E and EUDCA, it aims to develop a model tripartite agreement to guide the sustainable integration of data centres into Europe’s energy system, with implementation set to begin later this year.

The Declaration reflects a shared commitment to ensuring Europe’s digital growth goes hand in hand with a resilient electricity system. CurrENT welcomed the Roadmap’s recognition of innovative grid technologies as key enablers of faster grid connections and more efficient network planning and operations.
